Welcome to Virtual Urth (virtualurth.com). By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Who we are
Virtual Urth is an independent entertainment review publication founded in 1995 and based in New York City, covering movies, TV, games, gear, guitars, kids’ entertainment, DVDs, and poetry.
Our content
All editorial content on this site — reviews, articles, VU Scores, poetry published with permission, photographs, and the site’s design — is owned by Virtual Urth or its contributors and is protected by copyright. It was originally published here by the site’s editor and owner; reproduction of this content on other sites without permission is plagiarism and copyright infringement.
You may link to any page on this site, quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link, and share our content through the sharing tools we provide. You may not republish substantial portions of our content, scrape the site for republication, or use our content to train commercial products without written permission.
Reviews and scores are opinions
Our reviews, ratings, and VU Scores are the honest editorial opinions of our writers, based on hands-on experience with the works and products reviewed. They are provided for entertainment and informational purposes. We are not responsible for purchasing decisions made based on our reviews. Product names, trademarks, cover art, and promotional imagery belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary.
Advertising
The site displays advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense. Advertisers do not review, approve, or influence our editorial content or scores. The presence of an ad is not an endorsement.
Submissions
If you submit content to us — a poem, a review, a tip, or feedback — you confirm the work is your own and you have the right to share it. By submitting, you grant Virtual Urth a non-exclusive, perpetual license to publish, edit, and display the work on the site with attribution to you. You keep ownership of your work. We may decline or remove any submission at our discretion. If you want a published submission taken down, contact us and we will remove it within a reasonable time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to attempt to disrupt the site, probe or breach its security, scrape it at abusive volumes, misrepresent your identity in submissions, or use the site for anything unlawful.
Third-party links
Reviews link to external sites — studios, manufacturers, retailers, streaming services. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Virtual Urth will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Changes
We may revise these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York.
